Best- Time for Northern Tanzania Safari

Rainy season are most suitable for adventure safari but does not provide best environment for climbing and camping in the rain and poor visibility. There are two rainy seasons; short and strong rain start at the late of October and full month of November, usually an hour. Long rains are April and May; it might last for 1 or 2 days continuously. High season starts at Mid-June, July, August, September and October. Again starts at the end of November and ends at the mid of January. Low season complete months are early November, April, May and from the 1st – 15th of June.

Maasai Wanderlust vehicles can hold up to 6 people, but we offer private, customs safari where only people in your safari vehicles are you and your driver-guide. We accommodate safaris and climbs of all sizes. Sharing a safari or climb as a group helps to keep costs down and poses to be an affordable way to enjoy adventure safari or climb. To join a group whether you are travelling alone or with friends its good value and a great way to meet new people, all you need is to confirm with us by either a call or e-mail; and all private safaris and climbs are sold by request, while itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of privacy.

Terms & Conditions

After you have selected your most suitable safari or climb itinerary, we recommend you should book for airfare first. On the bases of your arrival and departure dates, then you are on a good position to book a safari 120 days out or plus to avoid any safari or climb disappointments. Please, we would like you to provide us with your flight details and let us know of any special requirements. High seasons (months) June to October and December to January; most lodges and camps do fill-up quickly, again lodges and tented camps require payment in full. In some lodges which we can only confirm with them once, we receive full payment. After booking with us, a safari booking agreement will be sent to you and each person participating needs to fill out and send it back to us with the full amount for a confirmed booking or alternatively a deposit us $ 450 per person for an unconfirmed booking, showing you are fully committed and allowing us to book everything in time for your safari.

If you’ve sent a deposit, we’ll use this to secure your expert safari or climb guide and to tentatively reserve lodging. We’ll also provide you with an unconfirmed itinerary. Once payment in full is received and we book all lodging, airfare, hot air balloon ride, Kilimanjaro guides, etc. At this point, we will send a confirmed itinerary with all lodging and flight details. If a lodge or tented camp was unavailable, we’ll use an alternate lodge and alert you to the fact that it was changed. It will also be reflected in the final itinerary.

Payments Policy

Initial deposits are non-refundable initial deposits to secure your expert safari or climb guide and to tentatively reserve lodging. You will be invoiced upon making a reservation and full payment is due 90 days prior to the first land day of the trip. Payment is made through wire transfers.

If any safari or climb booking or fair is cancelled then, Maasai Wanderlust has legal rights to withhold funds:-


Cancellation of reservation 21 days or longer prior to departure, 25% of the reservation will be withheld and the outstanding balance of the safari package price, you will be refunded.

If a cancellation is received at least 10 days and up 20 days earlier to departure date, 50% of the safari or climb package price will be withheld.

Less than 10 days earlier to departure date, 100 % of the total safari or climb package price will be withheld and all outstanding payment will become payable directly to Maasai Wanderlust.

If you will be capable to find a replacement for themselves no less than 10 days earlier to departure date and the substitute complete this booking form individually, no funds will be withheld by Maasai Wanderlust. Maasai Wanderlust and our safari & climb agents have the right to cease all funds with immediate effect, if you fail to find a replacement.
